Captain Andy had three passengers for this trip. Captain might sound a fancy title for a man with only a small motor yacht, but what the hell? He owned and drove it and that made him captain in his books. Or in his boat, anyway.

Kayla walked arm in arm with her boyfriend through the dead but beautiful campus. It was officially spring break at Trinton University, and for once the perfectly manicured green spaces were student-free.
Daniel shot her a grin and whispered in her ear. "It's okay, babe, I know she's your best friend. We'll let her tag along for now."
A gorgeous blonde walked a few strides behind the young couple, her slender figure rushing to keep up.

I had just finished my three o'clock when my whole world really changed (although I did not know it yet)...
I teach English at a small college. I knew that I had not been focused on the class at all and must have appeared distracted. I was. My girlfriend of five years and I had just broken up. I had meant to cancel my monthly student dinner in which I invited anyone who was interested over to discuss current events or any items of literature they wanted to explore further.

On the outskirts of any big city you will find a few scattered small towns not yet gobbled up by the ravenous metropolis. They tend to be away from the major highways, which is probably the reason they haven't been overwhelmed. But with the big city just there, a lot of people drift from the small towns to the city itself. Shops that used to support the small town just can't compete with the big city malls and close down.

"Come on Jodie. It'll be fun."
Heather and Michelle were currently going through a green protest stage. Both just turned twenty, they got a kick out of going out and protesting for various causes. The rights and wrongs weren't really their concern. The chance to protest was the thing.
