Gerri killed the engine on her bass boat and glided into a cove sighing with contentment. Looking around at the morning mist rising from the lake she couldn't think of anywhere she would rather be or anything else she would rather be doing. As the boat slowed to a near stop she rose from the helm and slid into her bass seat taking up her rod and engaging the foot controlled trolling motor.

Such a simple and well known phrase. But how can anyone derive pleasure by giving something? - it defies all logic. The excitement of receiving something new, indulging in the joy of a gift, a compliment or whatever it may be that has been received. That's surely got to be where the real pleasure lies. My wife Kay and I were going away for a long weekend with our friends Don and Sandy. We were staying at a hotel I had been to many times on business. I got a terrific deal ,so figured both couples should upgrade and live it up for the weekend. When Kay and I got to our room, or I should say rooms, as it was a four room suite, I noticed a great view of the gardens, and from our balcony you could see over to the golf course past the other wing of the hotel.

Something very traumatic happened to me recently - something that could have killed me. Since then, I have been reliving all of the major events in my life. Fortunately, I have plenty of college friends and family to discuss things with. However, there is one event I must keep secret and anonymous.
During my senior year in high school, I was a determined, albeit slow, member of my school's track & field team.
