There's a faded childhood scar on her jaw. It shows in sharper relief in the flickering candlelight.
She walks to me, letting her cream chemise spill to the carpet. The beauty mark on the inside of her thigh winks at me as she crosses the room.
I had stripped and laid down on our bed earlier, as soon as I saw the lit candles and massage oils on the nightstand.

This is a story I wrote a while ago, while I was still crushing on one of my friends big time. It is a goofy story where I attempted to convince her that we could work. Let's just say in real life distance won. Please vote and comment.

Looking down at the crescent nail marks gouged into my hand, I made a rueful mental note to get you drunk before we took off next time. Turning my face towards the warm sunlight streaming in the window, I sighed, it had been far too long since I had been back. I could see the islands growing bigger across the clear bright aqua water.

Kendra pulled the note out of her pocket and read it again.
Kendra,
I'm sorry that I've hurt you. What we had was great. But, we both know that it's time to move on. I hope that someday you can look back on this and not hate me.

Megan was about to begin her Freshman year at a State University in the Upper Midwest. She chose this campus for a lot of reasons. It was located on a big, beautiful lake. Megan loved to canoe and here she could canoe every afternoon, if she wished. The psychology department was said to be outstanding and Megan intended to be a psych major.

Cory had been a good wife to Ben; at least, she thought she had. Then just a month ago, she had come home unexpectedly early and found Ben with Elaine, their dentist's assistant for god's sake. It was right in the living room. Cory had come in, and there was Elaine, an admittedly cute blond of about twenty, naked as the day she was born and sitting in Cory's favorite chair, her reading chair.

About six months ago I got my Associate’s Degree in criminal justice, hoping some day to hook up as a paralegal with a district attorney’s office. When the opportunity came up to work toward a Bachelor’s Degree, I decided to take a few more courses to see if I was serious enough about the subject matter to move on to even bigger and better things. I signed up for six credits at Colorado University, which meant four two-hour nights at school (leaving only Wednesdays free for me during the week).

Ashley took another big gulp of her rum breezer and glanced at Wanda. The brunette was smiling as she drove, but Ashley knew her well enough to see how nervous she was. Ashley laughed as she wondered what Wanda was nervous about; she wasn't the one who was going to have sex with a total stranger, for money.
