I had to leave home to get to the south coast for some business meetings. I was not in a hurry and it was a great day. I hate all the crush at the stations, so I decided to get on the final carriage of the train, before first class. I was delighted it turned out the way it did.
The carriage was not full and there were no frontward facing seats until near the back.

Crack. The sound slices like a steel blade through the chatter of the conference room. Heads whip around, staring at me, while I stare at the broken glass of water. The glass of water I was supposed to bring.
"Well don't just stand there, clean the bloody thing up."
I bend down, black pencil skirt riding up slightly as I gingerly pick up the delicate shards of glass.

I am the owner of a small manufacturing business which will remain nameless for reasons that will become obvious. For the same reasons, my name can't be revealed.
Arriving in my office on a Tuesday morning, I was faced with the usual issues to deal with, none of them enjoyable. Yesterday we had three people call in with the "Monday Flu," and I have to meet with each of them to let them know this is unacceptable. We only have 40 employees, and we need to be able to count on everyone showing up for work.

Tina shuffled her papers together and slid them into her bag. She had a new tutoring client, an unusual one, and she was interested in seeing how the session would go. She ran her tutoring business herself and distinguished it by tutoring one-on-one at clients' homes. Since most of her students were in middle school or high school, the parents appreciated not having to drive their kids to one more activity. The idea worked well and she was able to make quite a lot of money just from tutoring on weekday afternoons and Sundays.
