I live in a group of units. Most of them are owned by the people living in them but a couple of them are rentals. We're like a small village, with all of us knowing each other.
The unit next to mine has been a long term rental, but the guy renting it had finally scraped up a deposit and moved into a house of his own a few weeks back.
I was pissed off. See, I was supposed to head up to Canada with my buddies from university and spend our winter break snowboarding, but things never seem to turn out the way I plan. Instead my dad pulled rank and ordered me home for Christmas. He insisted that I should learn some values and spend "quality time" with my mother and sister.
Working away from home for a couple of days with a hunky, straight guy Ron finds that alcohol allows him to get something extra from his colleague.
"It'll mean staying away for a couple of nights," the foreman said. "It's a pain especially when the weather's so fucking bad but the job needs doing and you and Joe are the only ones free."
Gawd how I hate him!
His name is Daniel and he is such a jerk. Everybody else thinks so too, not just me. For some reason they all just put up with it. Well not me, I can't stand that prick!
"What is he doing here?" I spit turning to Kayla.
"Calm down, Jane," she says soothingly. "There's plenty of other people here...you don't even have to talk to him."
The absolute worst thing about being a student, living in a crappy, run down apartment, has to be having no access to laundry facilities. On Saturday mornings, when most of Eric's friends were recovering from the night before, or maybe getting some homework done, Eric would be at the laundromat trying to beat the noon rush of other students who lived nearby.
"Well that was something different. If you had told me a year ago that I would be sticking my cock up some guy's arse I'd have punched your face!"
"I have to say that when you started talking to me in the bar downstairs it didn't cross my mind you were...well, you know... one of THEM. You kind of did the pick up in a nice way though and the thought has crossed my mind once or twice so I suppose you just pressed the right buttons."
