You know that feeling you get when you're on that terrible amusement park ride, Tower of Terror or Freefall or whatever they call it- where they lift you up and then drop you out of the blue (literally) and your stomach flies up into your heart and your heart flies right out of your mouth?
That's the feeling I get when I meet my husband's angry gaze, and that anger is directed at me.

It was a quiet afternoon at the office. My last appointment for the day had to cancel at the last minute, and the bosses were all at a convention out of town. Nothing was happening, and although it was a good time to catch up on paperwork, I was tired so I thought I'd get an early start on the weekend. I didn't expect my girlfriend, Paola, to be home when I got there, so I was surprised to hear the television when I walked through the door.

Looking back to the summer I was eighteen I realize I was immature in many ways. For one thing, most kids my age had graduated from high school, but I still had a year to go. I missed most of fifth grade recovering from an auto accident and had to repeat it. It set me back socially as well. I was shy and still felt like an awkward adolescent. As far as sex goes, I would say that at that point I was omnisexual. Everything in the whole damn world turned me on!

My name is Mary and I can't believe what has happened to me over the past few weeks. Until recently, my husband Phil and I were the perfect couple pursuing the American Dream. It was dark. It was raining. I was tired.
I was also nervous. I considered calling the whole thing off, but it was too late now.

"I really should get some glasses," I muttered to myself as my eyes squinted to see through the driving rain.

My friends had suggested I needed a vacation. It had been nearly two years since my jerkface shitwad ex-husband had walked out on me and the kids. I had worn myself ragged trying to keep up with all the schedules, homework and extra-curriculars, then trying to keep up with my own job - forget trying to have a life of my own.

It wasn't until that very moment that the full gravity of the nation's economic downturn hit Lisa Ross. The newly hired Vice-President of marketing at an upstart South Florida publishing company, the previous handful of jobs Lisa had, air travel (usually first class) had been the mode of choice. Now she found herself seated and staring out the window of an Amtrak train as she prepared to embark from Miami to Washington, D.C. for a weekend conference.

Caroline McDuffy was lost. She didn't know the exact moment she had gone wrong, but she knew she had no chance of finding camp again. Her friends had asked her to wait for them before she started out that morning, but she had been impatient. After all, she'd been out there for three days; she had wandered the marked trails several times and thought she would be familiar enough with the area to go out alone.

I was on the bay front finishing the last of my 3 mile run. Feeling like I was getting older at my ripe age of 29, I tried to run at least 3 times a week and also workout 3 times a week. My wife Laura loved the results as my 5'8" frame was very toned and tanned. She also liked me to be clean shaven, so I removed most of my body hair to please her. It was fine except when I was in my running shorts which made me a little self-conscience.
